Our Environmental Strategy is delivered through the promotion of a company-wide culture that actively encourages good sustainable practice with the active involvement of our supply chain and stakeholders.
1. Climate Action
· We will reduce our emissions by changing from fossil fuels to renewable and alternative energy and aim to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 C02e emissions by 50% by 2030 in alignment with the Paris Climate Agreement and our Science Based Target
· We will address our associated and embodied emissions by changing the way we work in alignment with PAS 2080
· We want to become a Net Zero business 10 years early, by 2040, through commitment to the Climate Pledge
2. Circular Economy & Resource Management
· We have a responsibility to reduce pressure on energy use and the world’s finite resources by becoming more circular in our approach and sending zero avoidable waste to landfill by 2030.
· We will design out waste at source, use renewable materials or recycled content, and improve our waste management to maximise the reuse of waste.
· We seek to minimise use/extraction of virgin materials and promote reduced use of water in our designs and construction processes.
3. Environmental Protection & Biodiversity
· We want to cause Zero Harm to the local and wider environment; reduce the impact our business has and create planet positive opportunities.
· We will prevent pollution and mitigate our impact to air, land and water through rigorous implementation of our ISO 14001 environmental management system.
· We will consider our environmental impacts and tackle habitat fragmentation and prioritise nature-based solutions.
· Continue to foster our relationship with NGOs to combat nature loss and create opportunities for gains.
· Work with 3rd Party stakeholders to deliver biodiversity and conservation volunteering projects.
4. Sustainable Supply Chain & Ethical Procurement
· We will continue to support our entire supply chain in delivering sustainable solutions.
· We will procure products and services from ethical sources
· We will ensure our supply chain comply with relevant legal requirements and meet industry guidelines.
