Staff and Subcontractors on the A737 Dalry Bypass were pleased to provide donations of food items amounting to an impressive 110kg to the North Ayrshire Foodbank based in Ardrossan.
The donation is the latest of three to the foodbank since works on the £31.2million Transport Scotland Project began last year. Kind staff also donated a box of toys for their toy appeal.
Tristram Browne, Farrans Roadbridge Construction Manager dropped off the donation with Angela Newlands, Community Liaison Officer last week, and it was received gratefully by Craig Crosswaite, the Foodbank co-ordinator.
Tristram Browne said ‘It is fantastic that we have been able to continue our donations to the Foodbank and assist the communities in the vicinity of the project, and a big thanks to all the generous staff who donated to spread a little bit of Christmas Cheer’.
90% of donations to the foodbank are given by the public, so the donations are vital in assisting people in crisis with access to emergency food supplies.
