Declan Doherty from Farrans has been awarded Site Manager of the Year at the SPACES Awards Ceremony which took place in the Hilton in Cambridge last week.
Up against stiff competition from skilled and experienced Site Managers across the UK, it was Declan’s outstanding contribution to the East London Arts & Music (ELAM) Academy project which saw him come top of the pile.
He was suitably delighted with the award, which comes shortly after being appointed Contracts Manager within Farrans’ Building division.
Speaking about the SPACES Site Manager of the Year Award, Declan said:
“It’s great to be recognised in the industry for the efforts put in and the challenges faced on this project.
“I would like to thank all the project team for making this happen - it truly was a team effort with everyone playing their part.”
Now in their 16th year, the SPACES Awards are the only such awards dedicated solely to rewarding excellence and innovation in construction projects delivered within the Public Sector.
The ELAM project itself was also recognised on the night, picking up an award for Highly Commended in the Civic Building of the Year category.
The East London education project saw the construction of a world-class facility for 300 specialising students; a 3 story building inclusive of live recording studios, teaching accommodation and a performance hall.
Congratulations to all those involved in the outstanding project - and to Declan for a stalwart performance at the helm!
