Farrans has been shortlisted for a total of four awards at this year’s CEF Specify Construction Excellence Awards, which are to be held at the Culloden Hotel this Autumn.
Farrans has been named as a finalist in the following categories:
- Training & Development Award
- Environmental Sustainability Award
- Social/ Community Construction Award
- Transport & Utilities Infrastructure Award
For the latter three awards, Farrans put forward the Connswater Community Greenway project in East Belfast.
The project saw the creation of an attractive, safe and accessible cycle and walkway through an urban area, connecting over 40,000 people with 16km of continuous cycle and walkway.
A project which included a myriad of social, environmental, cultural and historical elements, the project has transformed a community space for thousands of residents. It has been widely praised for drawing a new flow of visitors and tourists to attractions such as the CS Lewis Square and recreational areas along the walkway.
Following various rounds of judging over the summer months, Farrans is excited to join the other finalists at a gala evening event in October.
The Construction Excellence Awards were launched in 1999 and have since become one of the premier events in the Northern Ireland construction calendar.
The Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the achievements of the construction industry and to publicise the substantial contribution which is made to the economy and society in Northern Ireland.
