Farrans is delighted to have been recognised by one of their key Clients, Innogy UK, and presented with the '2017 Award for Good Safety Performance' on the Grudie Hydro Scheme project.
The 2MW Grudie Hydro Scheme saw the construction of 1.8km of penstock pipeline and reinforced concrete intake structure, as well as the construction of a reinforced concrete powerhouse structure and building services.
Works on the site in Kinlochewe were completed last year, with the project officially opened by Innogy CEO, Dr Hans Bunting.
The Farrans team based on the Scottish site were delighted with news of the award, following a unified effort to hand over an excellent project to Innogy.
Farrans Contracts Manager, Neil McDonald, praised the efforts of the entire site and management team.
"A strong commitment to excellence in Health and Safety was evident by the entire team throughout the course of this technically challenging project," Neil said.
"At present, Farrans are working on a number of projects with Innogy. We are fully engaged in working collaboratively with Innogy, as one of our key Clients, delivering quality projects to the highest level of health and safety.
"As Contracts Manager on the completed 2MW Grudie Hydro Scheme, I would like to praise the site team for their management of this project with excellent standards of health and safety, which have contributed to the achievement of 491 days accident free on site".
